Peg Kehret
Peg Kehret has always loved to write. As a child she wanted to be a writer or a veterinarian. Now she includes animals in most of her books and, when she isn't writing, she helps animal rescue groups. Peg's books have won more than fifty state young reader awards. Peg grew up in Austin, Minnesota, and had a happy and normal childhood except for polio which paralyzed from neck down and hospitalized her for 9 months. She made nearly a complete recovery. In 1955 she married Carl Kehret and moved to California 2 years later. They adopted 2 children, Bob and Anne. In 1970 Peg and Carl moved to Washington State where they still live.
